This is the smallest and lightest Nikon DSLR camera body with a 16 megapixel sensor. It is armed to the teeth with the latest technology.

Build quality is excellent. A high resolution camera that produces big file sizes.

Photographs from this camera are outstanding. Images have beautiful saturated colour and fine detail. Tonal gradation is superb. Even at very high ISO settings.

Perfect for travel photography because of its size and the fold-away monitor keeps the screen safe when out and about.

The high pixel count combined with expeed II processing allows it to compete with my D300 camera for picture quality.

High dynamic range, active D-lighting and live view are great tools to have. And, for movie users it can be used with a separate microphone.

The monitor is the same quality as the pro D300 for checking image sharpness. And it can be flipped-out for live-view multi-angle shots.

The AF-S 18-55 VR kit lens is sharp as a tack.
