In terms of image quality the Canon EOS 5D must be one of the finest cameras ever. It is ideal for shooting weddings (which is why I own one) and landscapes, and other uses where the full frame sensor is a benefit. However, if you are only interested in sports or nature, then you should consider the EOS 30D for its speed and crop factor.
The EOS 5D Lens Kit comes with the excellent professsional EF 24-105mm f4 L image stabilized lens, in itself worth around £700.

The standard to beat when it comes to picture quality. Stunning viewfinder. Lens very sharp but soft corners. Bettered by the D300 on most things except image quality (which is important), and IMO the AF system (straightfowards in the 5D, over-complicated on the D300).
FOR: Unbeatable image quality, very low noise, large bright viewfinder, benefits of FF.
AGAINST: Sensor on dust is a pain, slow FPS.

O.k. I havent got this kit. However I bought the two separately for a combined price of £2200 (before the body discount in 2006).
Value for money is excellent, it is my normal carry round combination and offers great quality.
