Great little camera at a terrific price. The lens supplied with the kit is perfect.
I also bought the new Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8 to add more interest.
Quality-wise the D40 competes well with my D300 and D200 which are a bit on the heavy side for walking. The 6meg sensor is also a lot quicker to handle on the computer.
