This was my first Nikon Professional lens and I was not disappointed. Its heavy (as all pro lenses are) and it doesnt accept filters, however it is stunning and the filter issue, has never been an issue for me. I mainly use the lens for Landscapes, Architecture and Weddings. If the intention is Architecture my advise would be to post process in Photoshop CS as the "skew" facility is a must due to the wide angle effects especially at 14mm and obviously more aparent on FX sensor cameras.
For Landscape, the results are amazing and large wedding group shots are effortless on a full frame camera. I have used it on both FX and DX cameras with excellent results. Those who buy it and it is expensive, will no doubt be saving for the truly amazing 24-70 and 70-200mm f/2.8.
